Psoriasis

What is psoriasis?

Psoriasis is a long-term skin condition that accelerates the life cycle of skin cells. This allows cells to build up on the surface of the skin, which form scales and red patches that are often itchy and painful. Treatment aims to stop the skin cells from growing so quickly.

What is the evidence for psoriasis in people with schizophrenia?

Moderate to low quality evidence suggests a small, increased risk of psoriasis in people with schizophrenia compared to people without schizophrenia.
