Treatments

Psychotherapies are considered first-line treatments for PTSD. These include cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), exposure and cognitive therapies, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR). These are sometimes combined with pharmacological treatments, including antidepressants, which may be administered without accompanying therapies. This category covers both pharmacological and psychological treatments, as well as non-pharmaceutical physical treatments such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).
