Welcome to the Schizophrenia Library – TESTING

Welcome!

The Schizophrenia Research Institute (SRI) recently merged with NeuRA, resulting in a new environment in which schizophrenia researchers from both institutes can work in close collaboration with each other. NeuRA will maintain SRI’s research initiatives, including the Schizophrenia Library, and continue to focus on discovering ways to better treat, prevent and cure schizophrenia. This new partnership has proved to be a positive step for both institutes and has increased the influence within the Australian and global research communities, allowing the benefits of research discoveries to reach patients sooner.

The Library will continue to provide reliable and up to date information gained from systematic reviews on around 450 topics relating to schizophrenia. The topics cover symptoms, treatments, diagnosis, risk factors, the course and outcomes of the disorder, co-occurring ‘comorbid’ conditions, epidemiology (population perspective), and the physical features of schizophrenia, with gaps in the evidence flagged to encourage research in those areas. We use robust methodology to report and assess the quality of the available evidence, and provide two levels of information on each topic. The first is a brief Factsheet that provides general information describing the area examined and the evidence that is available. The second is a Technical Commentary that provides more detail on each topic’s background, methods and results. Printable PDFs of factsheets and technical tables are available to download from each topic page.

The information can be sourced by using the drop-down browse menu on the left, or by using the keyword/phrase search bar above. We hope you find it useful.
